DEUS NOBIS HAEC OTIA FECIT

Buckinghamshire D&H 22 Slough Wales Reverse well struckObv: Shield of arms, 1794 below, W. TILL, WINE & SPIRIT MERCHANT around. Rev: A lion rampant, RED LION INN below, HALFPENNY TOKEN. SLOUGH, BUCKS around. Edge: Plain. Uncirculated. Bronzed proof. Scarce. 10g. 28. 6mm. This small series of Slough tokens were most likely struck around 1840 and fraudulently dated 1794 to sell to collectors. Probably issued by W. Till, a wine and spirit merchant at the Red Lion Inn. Beautiful and desirable, nonetheless.
